Social Plastic makes plastic waste a currency that can be exchanged to help lift people out of poverty by providing income and additional life-improving items and services. By revealing the value in waste plastic we help reduce global poverty while stopping plastic from entering our oceans and waterways.

Precious Plastic is a project started by Dave Hakkens. It was originally started as his graduation project at the Design Academy in 2013. Back then it was a proof of concept, something that worked as a prototype but was not ready for scaling it up yet. The machines needed to be developed properly. Easier to build, using basic tools and universal materials.

At The Ocean Cleanup, it is our mission to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. In just ten years, we've funded more than 20,000 water projects in 24 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 6.3 million people.

ByFusion PBC is a smart waste management company focused on putting plastic waste to use. Winner of the 2015 Cleantech Open Northeast Sustainability Prize, ByFusion has a patented process that converts all types of waste plastic into an alternative building material called RePlast.
